The Hawkers

Paul Cashmore and Linda Rowe have been performing together for several years as founding members of popular band 'Over the Hillbillies' gigging regularly and playing festivals throughout Mid Wales, Shropshire and the Midlands.

In addition to this they formed 'The Hawkers' so they could play songs written by the artists that inspire them, such as Gillian Welch, The Be Good Tanyas, Stevie Nicks and Neil Young to name but a few.

An eclectic mix of songs played on acoustic guitars, banjo and bass and occasionally accompanied by the un-definable percussive talents of Mr Rowe take the listener from mountain to forest, roadside to hearth.

Cash’s guitar and vocals blend perfectly with Linda’s creating soulful, sweet and sometimes mournful music. All of this combined with their warmth and humour draw audiences in.

For the second part of this particular show Paul and Linda will be joined by Chris Brown and Jack Rowe. They will be performing a special set of old time American tunes which lay the foundation for the more contemporary Americana songs that inspire the Hawkers.
