Kate Dimbleby has spent 20 years singing other people’s stories – hiding behind Peggy Lee, Bessie Smith, Dory Previn. but a voice in her head kept nagging “What’s my story and why aren’t I singing it?’

Featuring songs from Kate’s sixth album (as heard on Radio 2) and released on Folkstock Records in February, Songbirds is created with just a vocal looper and a head full of memories. Inspired by ‘Don’t worry be happy’ vocal virtuoso and mentor Bobby McFerrin.
