Under Milk Wood
Originally written for radio, Dylan Thomas’s effusive, garrulous poetry is adapted for the stage as a whimsical fever dream, riding on a wave of bawdy fantasy. Come and see a day in the life of the mythical Welsh fishing village of Llareggub (now, what does that spell backwards?), with its parade of quirky characters, including Polly Garter, Captain Cat, Organ Morgan, Nogood Boyo, Dai Bread, and Rosie Probert.
If you think you know Wales, think again. The land of Thomas’s fathers is both celebrated and satirised through a lens of barbed irreverence, presenting the eccentric locals in surrealistic tableaux of scabrous humour, mellifluous hymns, ghoulish eroticism, and seething desire.
