We know that everyone loves an excuse to party and St. Patrick's Day is the perfect excuse to bring family and friends to Discovery Museum for a fun family Ceilidh that everyone can join in and enjoy.

There’ll be a fantastic mix of traditional Irish Dance displays to inspire you before taking to the floor yourself to dance away to the music played by North East favourites, the Tony Corcoran band.

When you need a breather from all that jigging, visit one of our craft tables and get creative with the little ones or test your knowledge with our family quiz.

There'll also be spot prizes awarded throughout the afternoon including best fancy dress and ceilidh champion.

With face painters and balloon modellers on hand to you can take away a little something as a memento.

If all that isn't enough, our pop-up cafe will be open serving up some Irish-themed fayre and possibly a tipple or two.
