Gilbert And Sullivan's HMS Pinafore

The story takes place on the proud ship H.M.S. Pinafore, under the command of the courteous and beloved Captain Corcoran.

With him are his sailors, including the dashing seaman Ralph Rackstraw, the grim and detested Dick Deadeye, as well as a rosy dockside vendor named Little Buttercup and the Captain’s beautiful daughter Josephine.

Ralph has fallen in love with Josephine, however the disparity between their classes prevents her from reciprocating his affections.
