Paris And Juliet
This year marks the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death.
To mark this year, Fox Repertory Studio presents Paris and Juliet - a new play which tells one of the Bard's best known tales as experienced by one of his most overlooked and misunderstood characters: Paris.
Often portrayed as a smarmy prince or a helpful plot point, this play delves a little deeper into the story of Paris during his fateful last days. Showing him as a man devoted to peace, in love with Juliet and unknowingly bound to tragedy.
The play intertwines scenes of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet with the last days of Paris to challenge and entertain both those familiar and unfamiliar with the original classic tale.
The play is written in blank verse iambic pentameter throughout, a style which is synonymous with Shakespeare.
This bold and powerful production will make you see Romeo and Juliet in a fresh new way, teasing out the hidden tragedy locked up between the lines of one of the greatest plays ever written.
