The 103 day occupation of the Caterpillar factory in Uddingston in 1987 sent reverberations around the world.
In March 1987, Jamie faces redundancy. Driven to despair he climbs the factory’s water tower, only to discover he’s not alone - or the only one with problems. Butterfly is a black comedy about complicated lives, loves and buried secrets.
In Out of the Bad, thirty years later, Mary has the hangover from hell after the Caterpillar women’s reunion dinner. The last thing she needs is her daughter Danni to come round uninvited with bad news. But Mary is determined that Danni should know her heritage. As she reminisces she realises the factory closure may not have been the disaster it seemed in 1987 - life must go on.
Guidance - strong language, recommended for ages 16 plus.
