Preview Event - Faber New Poets At Wenlock Poetry Festival
In a taster of what is to come at Wenlock Poetry Festival 2016, join for this lively event celebrating and showcasing the very best in the next generation of poets.
To mark the publication of their poetry pamphlets in April 2016, this event brings together readings from Elaine Beckett, Crispin Best, Sam Buchan-Watts and Rachel Curzon, who have all been selected for this year’s prestigious Faber New Poets scheme. They are delighted to have been chosen as one of the venues for their national tour.
Backed by an innovative publishing programme and funded by Arts Council England, Faber New Poets aims to identify and support emerging talents at an early stage in their careers. The Faber New Poets initiative has previously supported and developed a dozen poets, including Sam Riviere, Toby Martinez de las Rivas, Fiona Benson, Heather Phillipson, Rachael Allen and Jack Underwood.
The event will be chaired by a top Faber poetry editor, and there will be a chance to chat to the poets after the reading.
