Montrose Music Festival: Status Quo
Status Quo has been announced to headline this year’s Montrose Music Festival. The legendary UK rock band, which recently released its 100th single since forming in 1968, will perform on Friday 23rd May at Montrose East Links, as part of the music festival which runs from 23rd to 25th May 2014 and annually attracts over 8000 people.
Status Quo founder member, Francis Rossi, said:
“Playing live, outdoors is what we love to do. We’re really looking forward to being part of the Montrose Music Festival, which attracts bands from across the UK, and entertaining our Scottish fans. It’s set to be a special concert.”
This is the first time the festival will host an outdoor event of this scale. A significant arena will be erected on the East Links to accommodate thousands of Quo fans.
Montrose Music Festival, or MoFest as it has become known, has been running for seven years over which time it has attracted acts such as Toploader, Eddi Reader, Deacon Blue and The Proclaimers.
The festival events take place at various venues throughout Montrose. Please visit www.montrosemusicfestival.co.uk/wp/ for more information.

Legendary three-chord maestros who were rockin' all over the world for over 35 years. With more Top Of The Pops appearances than any other band, Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt spent in excess of 417 weeks (that's over eight accumulative years!) in the British singles charts. In 1991, the guys were awarded a Brit for their Outstanding Contribution to Music; and Rick and Francis were awarded their long-deserved OBEs in 2010. Rick sadly passed away in December 2016, while Francis continued to tour with the band, performing Quo classics in acoustic style. They now play a mix of both 'Aquostic' shows and a return to their electric plugged-in performances.
