The Acorn Folk Club

We hope to see you next Saturday 6th April at the Acorn Folk Club, at THE UNITED REFORMED CHURCH HALL, Bancks Street, Minehead, TA24 5DJ, doors open 7.30 for 8.00 pm, as usual, but the important thing is to bring your own drinks and/or refreshments and glasses. It will be not dissimilar to Milverton and Roadwater which two clubs both run successfully in halls rather than pubs - except of course, we will stay acoustic and unplugged!!

See below for further directions, AND IGNORE ON THE ATTACHED POSTER THE LOCATION OF OLD SHIP AGROUND!

Our prestigious guest is now FAKE THACKRAY. We have been extremely fortunate to book him at short notice because one of our previously booked female comedy duo has had a sad bereavement and has had to cancel, but we hope to rebook them in the future.

In the meantime ... the show goes on ... BOTH WITH CHANGE OF ARTIST AND CHANGE OF VENUE and we immediately thought of FAKE because we can still offer you an hilarious evening of the late Jake Thackray's songs, by a superb performer and excellent guitarist - please visit his website www.fakethackray.com and open the attachment.

We can promise you an amazing evening .... floor spots, musicians, singers, listeners - everyone is given a warm welcome.

You can buy on line www.acornfolkclub.co.uk email or phone 709394 to reserve, or please just come along and HELP TO KEEP MUSIC LIVE IN MINEHEAD. Entry will be by recommended donation of the usual fee of £6.50.

TO GET TO THE CHURCH HALL, please drive up the Avenue from the seafront keeping Iceland, Smiths, Boots on your left, and then turn left into Bancks Street by Superdrug and a postbox on the corner. Drive to the top of this street and the church hall is the last building on the right at the junction with Irnham Road. From Irnham Road you can enter the church hall car park, but there is also loads of parking up Bancks Street itself, and in Irnham Road and on single yellow lines in the evenings, as well as other turnings nearby.
