Carnatic Connections
Don’t miss this evening of virtuosic violin playing and funky brass and drums which come together to create instrumental versions of film songs from Bollywood and the magical world of South Indian films. The show features video sequences from the original films, synched to the live music.
The Bollywood Brass Band is the UK’s pioneering Indian-style wedding band, playing the great tunes and danceable rhythms of Bollywood. Jyotsna Srikanth is Europe’s leading violinist from the South Indian classical tradition and also an accomplished western classical musician.
The evening will start with a curtain raiser performance of local young musicians supported by MK Music Education Hub, playing alongside the Bollywood Brass Band, following workshops held earlier in the day.
