Adele first met John in 1980 when she auditioned for his dance band (The Dave John Band). The band played many Northwest venues including Mecca dance halls, until 1997 when the band split up, leading to the formation of this duo known as Secret Combination.
Since then John has been teaching piano in their home town of Bolton and then in Windermere where they moved in 2006.
John and Adele now perform mainly in hotels in the South Lakes area with piano or keyboard, as a duo, covering vocalists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Randy Crawford, and many more.
