BBC Ten Pieces Schools Showcase – Classical Creations

Ten Pieces is an exciting new initiative for primary schools, led by BBC Learning and the BBC Performing Groups, focusing on classical music and creativity.

Ten Pieces aims to open up the world of classical music to children - and inspire them to develop their own creative responses to the pieces through music, dance or digital art.

The repertoire is a mixture of both well-known pieces of classical music and new commissions especially for this project.

Throughout the year children across Teesside have been taking part in workshops and activities in their schools, exploring the music and responding creatively.

The 'Classical Creations' concert will be a showcase performance of the children's pieces of work. The programme will consist of individual schools' performances alongside mass singing and a group performance of Anna Meredith's body percussion piece 'Connect It'
