The Essentials Of Adobe Photoshop For Beginners

In this course you will learn a range of techniques using Adobe Photoshop to create and manipulate digital images. The course is taught via description, demonstration and hands-on practical work.

This 4 week course covers basic use of Photoshop including:
Understanding Different File Types
Launching Photoshop
Setting image and canvas size
Changing the Resolution
Cropping Images
Rotating and Flipping a Canvas
Hue and Saturation
Using Layers
Using a range of different tools (spot healing brush, patch, magic wand, clone, lasso, red eye removal, eyedropper)
Clone Stamp Tool
Lightening and Darkening Sections of a Photo
Selecting Areas With the Marquee Tools
Inverting the Selection
Saving a Selection
Using the Filter Gallery
Enlarging a Portion of a Photograph
Rotating or Flipping a Portion of a Photograph
Creating a Feathered Picture
Moving Selected Areas
Inserting Pictures From Other Files Into a Layer
Opacity of One Layer
Change the Opacity Setting On the Layers Panel
Working With Text

Course Requirements: Participants should have experience of using windows and general file management.

Resources required: A memory stick and some digital photos to edit would be useful plus pen and paper to make notes.

This is a 4 week course on each Tuesday from September 29th.
