Introduction To Photography For Beginners

A practical course for beginners that takes the guesswork out of producing good photographs. Learn how to get the best results from the manual functions of your camera, and discover what makes a photograph successful by undertaking a number of practical projects, looking at the work of other photographers and applying these skills to producing a portfolio of photographs.

The 10 week course may involve visiting exhibitions to view the work of other photographers. Suitable for any digital camera with manual controls.

Course content:
During the course you will study the following topics:
An introduction to digital photography
Using the camera
Different shooting modes
Composition and viewpoint
Using light
Downloading and capturing
Basic image manipulation (e.g. cropping, adjusting levels).
The work of other photographers

Course requirements:
You will need to bring your own Compact or Digital DSLR Camera, manual, cables for transferring images to the computer, a memory stick and if possible a tripod, although this is not essential.

This is a 10 week course, on each Thursday starting on September 24th.
