Introduction to Manual Bookkeeping

Every business needs to keep records and a good bookkeeper is essential.
If you are interested in this type of work either for future employment or to do your own books then this introductory course will give you an excellent beginning.

This introductory course covers:
Double entry bookkeeping | Recording sales and purchase ledger transactions | Balancing ledger accounts | Recording cash and bank transactions | Bank reconciliations | Petty cash system | The trial balance

No prior knowledge is required, just a good understanding of English and simple maths. The format of the course is very much a practical course giving you lots of practice in manual bookkeeping with a strong focus on double entry. This is a 10 week course with a certificate awarded on successful completion of a tutor marked assessment.

You will need pens, pencils and a calculator.

The course is led by Sue Wright who has taught AAT and bookkeeping for over 5 years. She is AAT qualified and has worked in bookkeeping and accounts for over 20 years and has recently set up as a self-employed bookkeeper and accountant.
