German Improvers Plus - Term 1

The aim of this course is to build on students’ understanding of the German language and culture and improve on their language competencies. Emphasis is put on students expressing themselves verbally with increasing confidence by practising the spoken language as much as possible; however, attention will also be given to the written form to enable students to compose letters, e-mails and short stories and reports in German as well as to read easy original German literature. Role play as well as listening exercises promote the oral and auditory proficiency in the language. Grammar is being taught as an integral part of the course to aid the students’ ability to express themselves more easily and assertively.

Current affairs and historic events
Geography of German speaking countries
Places of interest, German Festivities/Festivals and Customs
German Literature and Poetry (easy)
