A Place In The Sun

The project explores the pleasure and pain or the highs and lows of all-inclusive holidays, particularly abroad.

Tom went on a holiday and viewed it through the filter of the seven deadly sins. From lounging by the pool, to hedonist nights out and eating as much as you like - he saw the seven sins played out, where normal codes of behaviour do not apply. In his quest for ‘a place in the sun’ he discovered a world that is riddled with prejudice and xenophobia lacking any culturally authenticity but filtered through and adapted for the tourist market.

A unique Vacation club has been set up, this holiday environment is put together for audiences to take a break from their life’s, audiences are encouraged to visit in the daytime share their holiday stories over a cocktail or a cup of tea, on a sun lounger. They will also have opportunities to engage with the installation, play cards, listen to an audio piece, watching the projection of holiday-themed films.
