Josh Rouse appearing at this event

The Nebraska-born, Valencia-dwelling Josh Rouse sings a brand of soft acoustic rock, extending from his youthful obsession with such bands as The Smiths and The Cure. From the release of his first album, Dressed Up For Nebraska, his work has drawn rave reviews from a range of circles further enhanced by his collaboration with Lambchop's Kurt Wagner in 1999.

Vetiver

Vetiver appearing at this event

San Franciscan band Vetiver, Andy Cabic’s ever-evolving line-up of bay area musicians (including at one time or another Devendra Banhart) released their debut album in 2004, which was highly praised by critics and received gratefully by the public. Cabic’s troupe of contemporary folk and country musicians has made Vetiver one of the most unusual and interesting bands on the scene, and has nurtured musicians such as Banhart, Joanna Newsom and Alissa Anderson at the beginnings of their careers. ‘Vetiver are named after an aromatic East Indian grass that grows in California, and their music delivers on the sunny, hazy sweetness the band's name suggests.’ (NME)
