Messiaen: Quartet For The End Of Time
During World War II, French composer Olivier Messiaen was captured by the German army at Verdun and imprisoned at a German POW camp. It was there he met a violinist, a cellist and a clarinettist among his fellow prisoners that inspired him to this monumental undertaking.
