Combining the vocal prowess of MF DOOM and the unmatched production skill of Madlib, the album helped to redefine the sound of hip hop. Madlib’s productions took hip hop in a new direction, exploring new ideas and sampling obscure jazz cuts. No hooks or choruses, only the beat.
