Manchester-based writer/DJ Dave Haslam interviews Cerys Matthews about her life and work. Cerys was the founding member of the band Catatonia, who came to prominence with singles like ‘Mulder and Scully’ (from the number one album ‘International Velvet’).
Since the break-up of the band she has performed with the likes of the Pet Shop Boys, the Manic Street Preachers and Tom Jones, and released solo albums. She has had well documented problems with drugs and alcohol; until Bob Dylan called her and encouraged her to go to rehab. Since then she has made more albums, made her mark as a BBC6Music presenter, and been awarded an MBE for services to music.
