Manchester Camerata: Who Runs the World…
Manchester Camerata are excited to be celebrating the roles of inspirational women in music this year with a very special programme, featuring a new work by Camerata´s former Composer-in-Residence, Laura Bowler, which is inspired by the iconic Björk, Norwegian pop sensation Aurora and Joni Mitchell. This blend of top international talent elucidates the prominence of women in music today.
Camerata’s Youth Forum provide a work for the Inspirational Woman of the Year recipient and will follow with a performance of Anna Clyne’s Within Her Arms as well as Deborah Pritchard’s trumpet concerto, Seven Halts on the Somme, which was commissioned by Lichfield Festival in 2016 for Manchester Camerata and Tine Thing Helseth.
