MIF17 features new work from an eclectic range of artists and educationalists who constantly grapple with one of the arts’ most interesting challenges: how to make work for children and young people that explores complex subjects and contemporary topics.

To discuss this fascinating subject, Liz O’Neill from Z-arts, Manchester’s dedicated venue for children and families, will be joined by Sue Buckmaster (Theatre-Rites, Director of The Welcoming Party), Jane Davidson MBE (Scottish Opera, co-producers of BambinO) and Nigel Barrett and Louise Mari (Shunt, creators of Party Skills for the End of the World), who’ll all be offering insights into how they create original new work for children, young people and family audiences.
