This event has been and gone.
Satisfyingly that’s 26 years at number 26 Oldham Street and they are of course throwing a party. Actually they are throwing two. Because they can.
The first celebration lands on Friday 24th November and up on stage will be two of their absolute favourite Mancunian combos… whip-smart fiery noiseniks Shaking Chains, wunder-fuzz long hairs Mister Strange and Calvadore delivering big fat tunes for Fighters, Lovers, Brothers, Mothers and Others.
Manchester indie four-piece Shaking Chains borrow their name from ‘The Masque of Anarchy’, a poem written when Shelley was in exile, to portray his disgust with the Peterloo Massacre and the encroaching parochialism of the England in which he fled (‘Shake your chains to earth like dew, which in sleep had fallen on you. Ye are many – they are few’).
