PI: Discovering Particle Detectors

Particle detectors and accelerators were instrumental in the discovery of the Higgs boson particle in 2012, via the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva. They allow us to look into matter on the smallest scale and have a multitude of applications, including the scanning of archaeological objects. See how particle accelerators work with a working Lego model, then experience how detectors reveal natural radiation and cosmic rays all around us.
