Since the release of her third album Jagged Little Pill in 1995, Alanis Morissette has been one of the most influential singer / songwriter / musicians in contemporary music. Her deeply expressive music and performances have earned vast critical praise, and as of 2018, 12 Canadian Juno Awards, 7 Grammy® Awards (with an additional 14 nominations), two Golden Globe nominations and sales of over 75 million albums worldwide. In addition to her music, in more recent times Alanis has also presented a highly successful series of podcasts, simply called 'Conversation'.

Liz Phair

Liz began her career in the early 1990s by self-releasing audio cassettes under the name Girly Sound, before signing with the independent record label Matador Records. Her 1993 debut studio album Exile in Guyville was released to acclaim; it has been ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Phair has sold nearly three million records worldwide and had two Grammy nominations. More than three decades after the release of her debut, Phair's influence over female voices in alternative music can still be felt today.
