"SFTOC is a celebration of new music and performance, uniting the cream of the national and international scene with some of the city's finest independent promoters, collectives and club nights.
Happening regularly on the May Day Bank Holiday each year, SFTOC takes in a huge array of unusual places and spaces along Chapel Street, the historic centre of Salford, a stones throw from Manchester city centre. The festival sets up home in proper old pubs such as The Kings Arms, The Crescent to the beautiful St Philips and Sacred Trinity Churches as well as Islington Mill."

A melancholic Irish songwriter. The magazine Hot Press said of him 'this music is consumately, overwhelmingly and blindingly gorgeous' and rated his album 'A Northern Country' one of the best of 2004. Rough Trade called it 'a stunning wintery wonder', whilst The New Yorker said 'Crowley transcends the limitations of his chosen genre'. Adrian lives up to such praise every time he does a show, and he has captivated audiences across Europe and the East Coast of the USA. '...quite simply perfect'- Losing Today.

Daedelus is the alias of the equally portentous sounding Alfred Weisberg-Roberts, a classically trained clarinettist turned electronist from Santa Monica with a penchant for Edwardian garb and a record collection of epic proportions. Prolific and mercurial his numerous albums collage samples from diverse sources including such odd bedfellows as 50s sci-fi kitch, hip hip and Nat King Cole!

Signed to Grand Central Records, Manchester's Nu Jazz and Hip Hop outift Fingathing use one deck and one double bass to create a wall of sound underpinned by some major funk.
Comprising classically trained double bass player Sneaky and DJ / turntablist Peter Parker. Parker performed along with Sneaky for Rae & Christian, before teaming up as a pair. The band were signed to Rae's Grand Central Records in the UK (sub-contracted to Ninja Tune in the US), and have released three studio albums plus a best of compilation.

A Mancunian psychedelia collective drawing on influences as disparate as Afro-beat, krautrock, drone, noise and jazz. GNOD's music rotates and expands around a constantly changing line-up, summoning the freak 'n' roll of Ash Ra Tempel, the motorik beat of Neu! and the groove of early Can. Their release with White Hills, "Drop Out...II", was declared the best album to come out of Manchester in 2010.
GNOD tour dates
Enigmatic duo G R E A T W A V E S hail from Liverpool and London. Now residing in Manchester, the two share a vision for making boundless music and have done so from the moment they met. A plethora of synths, drum machines, cascading guitars, and organic field recordings, accompany front man David De Lacy's deep, penetrating vocals and streams of consciousness. Live performances include hypnotic projections of flowers bursting forth into life, the movement of clouds and the slow rising of the moon as De Lacy howls across swathes of Oliver Cooper's electronics.
