A powerful new display at IWM North reveals the forgotten stories of people who came to Britain during the Second World War.
With large-scale movements of people into the country, including soldiers, sailors, airmen and airwomen, refugees, war-workers and prisoners-of-war, the national and ethnic diversity of the population was unprecedented.
Featuring compelling stories that reveal the real people behind the extraordinary statistics, Mixing It: The Changing Faces of Wartime Britain, is made up of specially recorded interviews presented alongside archive material and new research.
