Hofesh Shechter Company

This evening gives audiences the first look at Shechter’s new short work, the second part of a trilogy that features dancers from his world-class ensemble. Known as The Bad, this piece for five dancers is accompanied by a dark and funky score featuring dub step grooves alongside his trademark percussive electronics.

Joel Harries, one of Shechter’s most recognisable musicians, having played live with the Company around the world, takes the stage to perform a live gig in the second part of the evening with three piece instrumental band, 72% Morrissey.

The evening opens with a rare glimpse of Shechter’s first work, Fragments, an atmospheric look at relationships with an ironic twist that brought him to the attention of the dance world. Once performed by Shechter himself, he now invites two members of his newly formed apprentice programme to demonstrate their extraordinary talent.
