That Night Follows Day: Forced Entertainment, Contact Theatre
That Night Follows Day is a comical and poignant text by Tim Etchells, the artistic director of international theatre company Forced Entertainment.
Written for performers between the ages of 8 and 14, the work explores the ways in which adults’ words and actions define young people’s experience. Addressing the audience directly, a Greek chorus of children explore and interrogate the truisms, excuses and lies told them by their elders.
In partnership with Contact, Forced Entertainment will create a rehearsed reading of the work. 16 local children from ages 8 to 14 will work with members of the Forced Entertainment team in a series of workshops to make a one-off presentation of That Night Follows Day for the public.
Free but advance booking is recommended.
One of Britain's foremost experimental theatre companies, producing stimulating, challenging and provocative work which creates exciting encounters with audiences. The company consists of a core group of six artists lead by Artistic Director Tim Etchells. Over the past 24 years they have worked alone and with a variety of collaborators from the worlds of dance, visual art, music and theatre to create a body of work which has earned them an international reputation.
