#JeSuis
#JeSuis is about lives in conflict and how the media dictates the stories people see. It settles its lens on
dancers whose place in the world is presented as unwanted neighbours from a place where human
catastrophes are a daily given.
Wrapped up in issues of displacement, refuge and instability, #JeSuis is a thrillingly physical work portraying the frustrations of life in a homeland that doesn’t know the meaning of ‘home’ anymore, where freedoms and choices become a luxury and the main hope is to stay safe.
The piece is accompanied by a musical score by Odedra’s long-term collaborator Nicki Wells and lighting
design by Alessandro Barbieri. The dancers are Gizem Aksu, Yasin Anar, Evrim Akyay, Taner Güngör, Su Güzey, Beril ?enöz and Melissa Ugolini.
