Manchester Mid-Day Concerts
Kana is partnered by international prizewinning pianist Alexander Panfilov in a programme including Britten’s sparky and youthful Suite, and the second Prokofiev Sonata, with gorgeous long and delicate melodies betraying its origin as a flute sonata, and a dynamic scherzo movement particularly well suited to the violin.
The Sarasate Carmen Fantasy surrounds the well-known operatic themes with violin pyrotechnics.
