Hoopy Frood, Slippery Slope

A Psychedelic groove rock band hailing from Berkshire and West London, Hoopy Frood have been playing together for over ten years with the same core members and released two albums to date, Psychonaut in 2004 and Indigo in 2009. They are currently working on new material for a third album.

The band have drawn influences from Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin to Shpongle and Ott (the latter produced the Indigo album), along with a wide range of other styles and genres. The result is a stir-fry of musical styles that is tricky to nail down to a specific genre, perhaps creating their own.

The band members are: Steve Varman - guitars/fx, Rich Walgate - bass/programming, Ruari Hignell - percussion, Myshell - vocals and Andy Aust - Drums.

Notable performances include a support for Ozric Tentacles and sets at various festivals including Boomtown, Chilled in A Field, Solarafayre and others. Their albums have sold in 14 countries and to much acclaim.

Support on the evening comes from Slippery Slope. They are a four piece acoustic band combining an unusual mix of instruments and musical styles to produce a charming, fun and foot stomping sound. Playing traditional and contemporary musical styles from classic French accordion to stomping Klezmer, with occasional dips into ska and Irish folk along the way.

The line up is accordion, fiddle, guitar and Trinidadian steel pan. Slippery Slope supply the perfect mix of silly, melancholy and beautiful music. Prepare to dance like a fool.
