This performance is a beautiful portrait of Newfoundland culture as painted by the rhythmic writings of one of Newfoundland’s most beloved poets, Al Pittman. Using selections from his poems, prose, songs, and plays, Theatre Newfoundland demonstrate the culture of island life.

The cast of six take the audience back to the turn of the last century; sharing the nostalgic and tender human stories of pioneering lives, growing up in an era of hardships and strong communities, of childhoods dominated by the weather and landscape, of relinquishing a way of life in the face of ‘progress’.
