What The Dickens?: Gonzo Moose Theatre Company
Renowned comedic maverick Gonzo Moose presents a journey into the very funny and very foggy world of Charles Dickens.
Young Charles Dickens is a rookie reporter on The Morning Chronicle. Whilst investigating the foggy slums of Ye Olde London Towne, he accidentally stumbles on a story that could make his reputation.
Follow our hero on the adventure of a lifetime! Expect a world of pockmarked pickpockets, cobwebby convicts, teeming slums, empty marshes, dark secrets, convoluted plots and lots and lots of fog.
This inventive and gripping comedy features just three actors playing over 20 roles in 80 minutes of fast-paced fun and thrilling action. What The Dickens? is the most absurd contribution to the Dickens bicentenary you could hope to see!
Established in 1999, whilst at Circomedia, Gonzo Moose are Bristol-based duo (Paschale Straiton and Mark Conway) whose productions are filled with a distinctive mixture of clowning, slapstick, and bizarre puppetry. They have toured nationally with their shows 'The Ballad Of Janet And John', and 'A Moment Of Magic'.
'An exuberant mash-up of improvisation, physical theatre, slapstick and satire' (The Stage on Grimm and Grimmer)
'Anarchic comedy theatre at its best' (Fringe review)
'Wild, crazy, inspired and devilishly funny' (The Oxford Times).
