Lyme's Tempest
Created by Andrew Rattenbury and Clemmie Reynolds after Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
Shakespeare's The Tempest staged open-air with magnificent views of Lyme Bay and Golden Cap as a backdrop. A cast of over 50 local actors and singers perform this epic tale of storms, shipwrecks and an exotic island that was inspired by Lyme-born Admiral George Somers and his shipwreck on Bermuda in 1609.
Coinciding with the 20th Anniversary of Lyme's twinning with St George's in Bermuda, Shakespeare's play has been specially adapted for this production to weave in the real story behind The Tempest, with an original musical score performed live by the cast.
Hot and cold food and drinks will be available to buy before and during the performance. Marine Theatre bar and Pimms bar open one hour before the show.
