Norma Jeane: The Musical is an original work inspired by real life events experienced by Marilyn Monroe in February 1961. The story relates the mental and physical space endured by Marilyn during this period – a time which become filled with ghosts from her troubled past.

The circumstances of Marilyn's death less than 18 months later on August 5th 1962, from an overdose of barbiturates, have been the subject of conjecture. Though officially classified as a "probable suicide", the possibilities of an accidental overdose or a homicide have not been ruled out.
