Straight from its sold out run at the Dorfman Theatre, People Places and Things is the latest collaboration between creative powerhouse the National Theatre and innovative theatre company Headlong, following acclaimed productions Earthquakes in London and The Effect.
It's a new play about facing reality, no matter how challenging, penned by British playwright Duncan Macmillan (Every Little Thing and 1984).
In a 'career-making performance' (The Times), Critics Circle Award winner Denise Gough stars as Emma, an actress who goes on a personal journey; from having the time of her life to a stay in rehab. The first step is to admit that she has a problem. But the problem isn't with Emma, it's with everything else. She needs to tell the truth. But she's smart enough to know that there's no such thing.
