Love's Delight
Vivamus presents a collection of folk songs celebrating pleasure, beauty, and love, featuring Johannes Brahms' Lovesong Waltzes (Liebeslieder Waltzes).
The concert will also include the premiere of two pieces, Empress of Townes by Rufus Frowde and Pleasure, Measure, Love's Delight by Michael Summers.
In addition, the following pieces will be performed:
Benjamin Britten's Five Flower Songs
Vaughan William's arrangement of Greensleeves
Molly on the Shore by Percy Grainger
She's like the swallow, a Newfoundland folk song arranged by Edward T. Chapman
Londonderry Air, an Irish Melody arranged by Percy Grainger
English Dances, a piano duet by Malcolm Arnold
Guests can enjoy the show in cafe-style seating in the beautiful Wheatsheaf Hall while enjoying wine and other refreshments, which will be available at the interval.
