Bernstein’s joyous suite from On the Town is a snapshot of three sailors on a day of shore leave in New York. Written just a few years earlier, Prokofiev’s musical version of the Romeo and Juliet story provides a strong contrast. We treat you to Bartok’s virtuosic Concerto for Orchestra to close our season.
