Fear Of Music: Up In Arms, Out Of Joint Theatre Company
Luke is the first in his family to go to university, and he's determined to stop his irritating fireball of a brother from following in their father's footsteps by joining the army.
Returning to the TBT (where it premiered as Missing in 2012) as part of a UK tour, Fear of Music is a brilliant burst of a play from up-and-coming young writer Barney Norris.
Packed with beautiful observation and outrageously good jokes, it sees two brothers with starkly different futures, surrounded by mixtapes, guitars and ambitions, discover how easy it is to get lost in a country that doesn't look after its own.
Up In Arms was founded by director Alice Hamilton and playwright Barney Norris, who grew up making theatre performances together in Wiltshire. They develop and tour new plays about people and the places they're from with the support of theatres across
Their work is built around a permanent ensemble of like-minded actors and their plays grow out of workshops and conversations over years and through their participation programme they work with hundreds of people each year, encouraging them to engage creatively with their lives through making theatre.
Up In Arms tour dates
Epic, inquisitive, original and authentic, Out Of Joint develops and tours entertaining theatre that broadens horizons and investigates our times.
It has premiered plays by such writers as Caryl Churchill, David Edgar, David Hare, Mark Ravenhill and Robin Soans and its productions include Stella Feehily's play about the NHS, This May Hurt A Bit, and an acclaimed revival of Timberlake Wertenbaker's Our Country's Good.
