La Traviata

Melodrama in Three Acts
Music by G. Verdi
Libretto by F.M. Piave

Musica a Palazzo offers a new way of experiencing the Opera.

The original approach revolves around the interaction between the artists, the musicians and the public. This removes the distance between audience and performers and gives spectators the feeling of living Opera from within.

The intimate nature of the setting, the distinguished interiors, the refined costumes and a modern direction aim to deliver realistic interpretations and make this a unique experience.

La Traviata evolves through the elegant rooms of the Trinity House so as to take advantage of an ideal and complementary natural setting.

The first act begins in the Library Room and the spectators will realise with amazement that they are actually playing the role of the Violetta’s guests (Traviata): she drinks a toast with them and among these she will meet Alfredo.

The drama of Violetta’s illness and death is consummated in the in the Court Room and not even the magnificent densely-woven carpet or the extraordinary 18th-century stuccos can divert attention from the emotional intensity of the music: the voices of the singers, in close intimacy, resonate in the heart and soul.
