Removal Men

Mo is 31. He works in an immigration removal centre. He’s a Detention Officer. He wears a shirt, a tie, and sometimes even trousers. He’s from Bishops Stortford.

Mo’s in trouble.

Mo’s in love.

Dangerous and unsettling, beautiful and hilarious, Removal Men is a play with live music and songs. It tells the story of a fragmented twenty first century Britain, trying to be powerful, trying to love, trying to escape.

Removal Men is the first full length work for theatre by writer and musician M. J. Harding, a founding member of the band Fat White Family.

Following the critical acclaim and sold-out success of The Mikvah Project and LINES, Removal Men will be artistic director Jay Miller’s third production for The Yard.

Early booking recommended.

Age guidance 14+: Contains strong language, violence and sexual content.

Supported by Arts Council England, Unity Theatre Trust, Arts Patrons Trust, The London Community Foundation and Cockayne – Grants for the Arts.
