Fete Galantes - Melodies By Faure, Debussy, Ravel And Hahn

The museum’s Director, Christoph Vogtherr in disucssion with the pianist Iain Burnside, will consider the influence of the Fête galantes as created by Watteau and his contemporaries on later poetry and music.
The renowned soprano Ailish Tynan will sing settings of Paul Verlaine by Fauré, Debussy, Ravel and Hahn, in an evening that explores a cross fertilisation of image, word and sounds that is quintessentially and uniquely French.
