Jonathan Cilia Faro has overcome every obstacle life has thrown at him to follow his dream of becoming an opera star. From his troubled childhood which saw him finding solace in classical music thanks to a nun at his school, to his battle with cancer, to such unlikely spells as: A Minister, Soldier, Freemason, Busker and a Restaurateur

Jonathan is not only one of the most extraordinary vocals talents to emerge in years but arguably the most engaging, entertaining and inspirational character in opera! Jonathan’s appearance at The Troubadour is a unique opportunity to see him performing tracks from his new album, From Now On, in an intimate setting and with all ticket holder’s getting a free copy of the CD on the night!

Jonathan was only 25 when he learned of his cancer diagnosis, a period of time where life and death were genuinely in the balance. His illness caused him to not only lose his passion for music but took away his voice. Going through both surgery and chemotherapy, his eventual recovery was not only physical but also mental and spiritual, realising that his opportunity at a second chance at life meant he could help to inspire others through their darkest times through the power of music. His voice now literally changed by the experience, his passion for music became stronger than ever, leading to Jonathan’s latest project From Now On, a collection of cinematic and moving songs which offer the escapism and hope needed in the very darkest of times.

Born in Ragusa, Sicily, Jonathan has lived in Europe, Asia and North America, now dividing his time between London and America, an entertainer who combines his love of opera with liberal doses of humour and stories from his remarkable life. Jonathan travels the world sharing his passion for music, with a desire to make it accessible for everyone, regardless of their background or preconceptions. He has also committed his time and energy to support children with autism by using music to help them to express themselves.
