Sound for Sight is a unique fundraising gala - held on World Sight Day - to raise awareness of the importance of music to the partially-sighted and blind.

It is Sound for Sight's mission to fund research into the curable degenerative eye disease retinitis pigmentosa (RP), through the power of live music. Nothing else like this happens on World Sight Day. Retinitis pigmentosa is a group of genetic disorders that affect the retina’s ability to respond to light. This inherited disease causes gradual loss of vision, beginning with decreased night and peripheral vision, and leads to eventual blindness.

Sound for Sight is a unique live music experience where the focus is on the music, not the performers. The audience wears sight-loss simulators during the show, which not only recreate what it is like to suffer from RP, but also heighten the live music experience by taking the focus away from the visual performance.
