Book Slam Book Launch : Luke Wright, Jackie Kay, Stephen K Amos
Guests on the night include our old friend and the hardest working man in poe-biz, Luke Wright (he does, you know), new friend and the masterful voice behind 'Red Dust Road', 'Fiere' and 'Reality, Reality', Jackie Kay, and fine fellow Stephen K Amos, reading from his memoire, 'I Used To Say My Mother Was Shirley Bassey'.
See bookslam.com/ for further information.
A Glastonbury Festival Slam Poet Champion, with some very funny poems. Winner of the Spirit of the Fringe Award for innovation, using a mixture of sharp, humorous verse and anecdotal stand-up.

Her Maw Broon Monologues were short-listed for the 2010 Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry and her autobiographical The Red Dust Road featured as Radio 4's Book of the Week. Jackie has also published collections of short stories, works for children and writes widely for stage and screen.

Stephen K Amos has charmed and entertained audiences all over the world with his natural, assured delivery and his honest, original material. Amos is filled with an almost child-like joy and exuberance and can find the funny in some of the most unexpected places.
'As his autobiographical sitcom plays out on Radio 4, Amos is officially becoming a national treasure. Expect more warm insight and spiky charm here' (The Sunday Times)
'It was all fabulous. But it was when riffing with the audience that Amos truly excelled. With a packed venue ready on his side, Amos drew people into his routines; his finely honed sensibility turned innocent remarks into comedy gold' (Herald Sun)
'Uplifting stand-up from a charming performer' (Time Out)
'A note-perfect hour' (Metro).
