Threebop - A Sleepin' Bee Debut EP

Three of London's vibrant young jazz voices come together to create their own take on vocal jazz harmony singing. Inspired by the music of bebop legends and the vocalese tradition, Ella Hohnen-Ford, Rosina Bullen and Luca Manning perform their own arrangements with tight vocal harmonies and improvisation. Each of these vocalists brings their own personality and distinct sound to the music, culminating in a refreshing and engaging performance. Their resident rhythm section features some of the most in demand young players on the scene. David Swan - piano, Will Sach bass and Boz Martin-Jones drums. The Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley album is one of the most successful vocal Jazz albums of all time. After the passing of Nancy Wilson in 2018 and discovering that we are all absolutely in love with this record we decided to arrange and re-orchestrate some of our favourite tracks to perform together. It was important for us to honour the trademark sound of the album, therefore we kept some of Nancy's phrasing and original horn lines whilst expanding the sound for three voices which gave us scope to play with new ideas.
