An Evening With
Come and be inspired by the First Lady of Athletics who will be interviewed about her life and triumphant athletics career by Vassos Alexander at OSO Arts Centre to raise money for FiSH Neighbourhood Care. Over two decades she set no fewer than 24 British records, winning many accolades including gold medals in the 1970 and 1974 Commonwealth Games in the Pentathlon, however her crowning glory was to win Great Britain's only athletic's gold at the 1972 Munich Olympics, setting a world record. Since retiring from track and field, Mary Peters has continued to serve Northern Irish and British athletics as a sporting ambassador. Through her own charitable Mary Peters Trust, she supports talented young sportsmen and women from across Northern Ireland. Mary Peters is a wonderful raconteur who speaks from vast experience with dignity and knowledge yet with caring, humility and humour.
